Paige no longer WWE SmackDown general manager

Paige is officially no longer the on-screen general manager of SmackDown.

After it was announced last night that Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Shane McMahon were “taking back” Raw in storyline and would be in charge of SmackDown as well, tonight’s SmackDown opened with a segment where Shane addressed the roster backstage. He announced that Paige was no longer the GM of SmackDown and thanked her for her contributions.

Shane said that Paige isn’t going anywhere and it’s just her role that has changed. Further details on her new role have yet to be revealed.

Vince also appeared on tonight’s SmackDown as an authority figure, making a SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Asuka and Naomi for the episode and taking part in a backstage segment with The Miz.

Paige had been SmackDown GM since the Tuesday after this year’s WrestleMania. She became GM after announcing her retirement from in-ring competition due to career-ending neck injuries.
