Penta returns on WWE Raw, helps Rey Mysterio

Penta is back in action.

Rey Mysterio was wrestling Austin Theory on Raw when Logan Paul interfered, clipping Mysterio on the apron to cause a disqualification. Paul and Theory double teamed the Hall of Famer until Penta ran down for the save, taking out Theory with a hurricanrana. Mysterio then took out Paul with the 619 as the segment ended with the two celebrating.

Penta had been out of action for the last few weeks after suffering an injury during the Last Time Is Now tournament on the November 24 edition of Raw. He was wrestling Solo Sioka when he hit a hurricanrana off the ring barricade, landing hard on his shoulder upon impact. Penta wanted to continue the match, but WWE officials stopped it and awarded the match to Sikoa.

At AAA Guerra de Titanes, Penta was scheduled to team with his brother Rey Fenix to take on Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano in a tag match in what would have been The Lucha Bros. first match as a team under the WWE umbrella. With Penta’s injury, Rey Mysterio ended up teaming with Fenix instead to defeat his son and Americano.

In that match, Dominik Mysterio also suffered a shoulder injury. It was announced on Raw that he would be out of action ‘indefinitely’ as a result.
