Raquel Rodriguez gives update on battle with mast cell activation syndrome

On WWE Raw this week, Raquel Rodriguez returned to the ring for the first time since December.

Rodriguez, who suffers from eczema, revealed in January that she was battling mast cell activation syndrome, a condition that caused Rodriguez to be red and swollen and kept her from traveling, wrestling, and going to the gym. Rodriguez said the condition made it so she didn’t want to look in the mirror or be on camera, but she was grateful to her family for being the best support system in the world.

In a social media post after making her return, Rodriguez gave an update on her battle with the condition.

“The journey is far from over. I finally got some answers as to what caused this but it’s going to be a while til I can get it fully under control,” Rodriguez wrote today.

Rodriguez won a last-chance battle royal on Raw, earning her the final spot in the women’s Elimination Chamber match. It will be Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi vs. Rodriguez at Elimination Chamber this Saturday. The winner earns a Women’s World Championship shot at WrestleMania 40.

Rhea Ripley currently holds the Women’s World Championship. She’s defending the title against Nia Jax at Elimination Chamber.
