Raw Women’s title changes hands at WWE SummerSlam

A new Raw Women’s Champion was crowned at SummerSlam on Saturday night.

Charlotte Flair defeated Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match to win the Raw Women’s Championship. With her win, WWE now recognizes Charlotte as a 12-time Women’s Champion on the main roster. She also had two Women’s Championship reigns in NXT.

Charlotte submitted Nikki A.S.H. with the Figure Eight to win the title. Ripley went to hit Riptide on Nikki leading into the finish, but Nikki countered it into a DDT. Nikki then went up to the top rope and tried to hit a crossbody on Charlotte. Charlotte avoided it, applied the Figure Four, and then bridged into the Figure Eight. Nikki tried to get to the ropes before tapping out.

Nikki A.S.H. was the winner of last month’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The next night, she cashed in on Charlotte to become Raw Women’s Champion. Charlotte had just won the title by defeating Ripley at Money in the Bank.
