Report: Asuka signs new long-term WWE contract

One of the most decorated members of the WWE women’s division has reportedly signed a new deal with the company.

PWInsider reported on Monday that Asuka has signed a new long-term WWE contract. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

At the moment, the 42-year-old Asuka is out of action recovering from a knee injury. She has not wrestled since dropping the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles at Backlash. Asuka underwent surgery after noting this May that she was taking a break to deal with a knee issue that had been bothering her for a while.

Asuka did appear during WWE’s house show tour of Japan this July, accompanying her Damage CTRL stablemates. The three-show tour marked WWE’s first time back in Japan since 2019.

Since joining WWE in 2015, Asuka has been one of the most featured members of the women’s division. She’s a multi-time Women’s Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion, along with being a Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner.

Asuka is a member of the WWE Raw roster currently. She and Kairi Sane were the Women’s Tag Team Champions prior to losing to Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair at Backlash. Over the weekend, Cargill & Belair regained the belts with a victory over Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn at Bash in Berlin.
