Report: Injured WWE wrestler expected at Performance Center this week
Chad Gable could be nearing an in-ring return.
Gable hasn’t wrestled since El Grande Americano defeated Berto on the June 17 taping of WWE Speed. He was written off WWE programming on the June 23 Raw when Penta gave him an arm-breaker during a backstage segment. It would later be revealed that he suffered a rotator cuff injury requiring surgery shortly afterward.
PWInsider is reporting that Gable is expected at the WWE Performance Center this week to work towards being cleared to return.
In July, Gable gave an interview while attending a Minnesota Twins baseball game. With his arm in a sling, he told the reporter:
“I have a little injury to my rotator cuff. But what it did do was buy me some time off the road to be home with my family and do stuff like this, go to a baseball game on a Sunday which I never get to do. So find the bright side, right?”
Leading up to his injury, Gable was wrestling both as himself and under the El Grande Americano gimmick. Following his injury, Ludwig Kaiser is widely believed to have adopted the character. Kaiser, as Americano, dropped the WWE Speed title to Jasper Troy last Tuesday at NXT Gold Rush.
