Report: Gunther finalizing new multi-year deal with WWE

According to recent reports, Gunther is finalizing a deal to keep him in WWE for the foreseeable future.

PWInsider reports that the current World Heavyweight Champion is in the “final stages” of agreeing to a new multi-year contract.

According to Fightful, the deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the year. WWE officials are said to be very high on Gunther, with one higher-up stating he is one of the most professional talents they’ve ever worked with.

Real name Walter Hahn, the 37-year-old signed with WWE in late 2018 and made his in-ring debut for the company the following January. In the time since, Gunther has won the NXT UK Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the 2024 King of the Ring tournament, and is the current World Heavyweight Champion. He successfully defended his title against Damian Priest at Survivor Series on Saturday, beat Dominik Mysterio on Raw last night, and will defend his title next against Finn Balor at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.
