Report: WWE ‘passed’ on potential AJ Styles TNA Hall of Fame induction
TNA reportedly wanted to induct AJ Styles into its Hall of Fame this year.
Bob Ryder and Rhino were inducted before Bound for Glory on Saturday, but according to a report from Fightful Select, other names, including Styles and Monty Brown, were also considered.
TNA is said to have approached WWE about inducting Styles into the TNA Hall of Fame this year. However, WWE passed on the opportunity. Although no specific reason was given, sources within TNA believe WWE’s rejection of the idea may be related to Styles’ current injury or future storyline plans.
Styles hasn’t wrestled since suffering a mid-foot ligament sprain in a match against Carmelo Hayes on the October 4, 2024, edition of WWE SmackDown. It was his first match on WWE programming since losing to WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in an “I Quit” match at Clash at the Castle in June.
A cornerstone of TNA’s history, Styles spent twelve years with the promotion, becoming one of its most decorated champions. From 2002 to 2014, he held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times when it served as the company’s top title. Styles also captured the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice.
