AAA live results: Dominik Mysterio & El Grande Americano vs. Perros del Mal
The first night of AAA Verano de Escandalo will air live tonight.
The show is set for Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano will team up to face two members of Los Perros del Mal. Daga will be one of the two Perros del Mal members, but his partner is being advertised as a mystery.
Rey Mysterio will have an announcement on this week’s show.
Plus, the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships will be on the line as Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana defend the belts against La Hiedra and Laredo Kid.

Welcome all to Verano De Escandalo! I have been doing my Duolingo and can tell you that translates roughly into “The Summer of Scandal.” I can also say: Yo soy Luis y mi compañero de cuarto es Pablo. Un cafe, por favor. So, as you can see, things are moving along pretty well.
Tonight’s festivities include two huge tag matches (one mixed, one stirred) let’s dive into it!
The show kicked off with AAA GM Rey Mysterio making his way to the ring with a promised huge announcement. Rey welcomed everyone to the event, which will last three weeks (of TV time). Rey said that he is working har behind the scenes to take Lucha Libre to the global stage.
Rey then said he had some good news, but was interrupted by Omos and Dorian Roldan. Last week, Roldan tried to name Omos the new Latin American Championship after Vikingo was forced to vacate the title due to injury. Rey had said an emphatic “nuh-uh” to that and took the title back, declaring a tournament of triple threat matches for the vacant title.
Roldan grabbed a mic and said Rey is responsible for Vikingo’s injury because he sent him to Smackdown and NXT. He also said that Omos deserves the title Vikingo vacated. So, give it back, yah? Or else this will end badly.
Rey said that he’s met many men who’ve tried to intimidate him, but Roldan will not. Roldan demanded the title back or he will unleash Omos to hurt Rey physically and professionally. Rey said ok, if things are going to be like that… no.
Roldan said that it was time to face the consequences. Rey and Omos got face-to-belly, but Roldan pulled the giant back and they left, potentially putting a 7-foot target on Rey’s back. So, I guess that was the announcement.
-Backstage, AAA Mega Champion Dominick Mysterio and El Grande Americano discussed strategy for their match tonight. Americano asked Dom if he was with him, saying he needed to hear it from hit. Dom said that he and Americano will be the biggest match in AAA history. So he will protect that. Also, Dominick was wearing a t-shirt with a picture of him as a child with his real dad Eddie Guerrero, which was pretty great.
AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship Match: Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana (c) vs La Hiedra & Laredo Kid
So, follow me here. La Hiedra and Iguana were Mixed Tag Champs, but lost the titles to Ethan Page and Chelsea Green. Then Hiedra and Vice had a match to see who would be Iguana’s partner (and maybe girlfriend?) which Vice won. Then, Hiedra filled in for an injured Chelsea Green to defend the mix tag titles with Green’s partner Ethan Page in a match that Vice and Iguana won to earn the titles. Hiedra has tried a few partners to win the titles back, Joaquin Wilde for one, but was unsuccessful. Now, Hiedra has made fast friends with an increasingly cranky Laredo Kid and the pair will try and take the straps from Vice and Iguana. And La Yesca. Why that puppet doesn’t have a tiny belt, I’ll never know.
Laredo and Iguana kicked off the match with Laredo shoving Iguana from behind when he went to put La Yesca on the ringpost. From there they traded pinning combinations until Laredo simply slapped Iguana in the face. Iguana turned that into an armbar and then a dropkick.
Hiedra tagged in which brought in Vice. Vice went right to the open hand chops and put Hiedra in an arm bar off the ropese. Hiedra couldn’t get any momentum with Vice hitting her with fists a feet at every turn.
Finally, Hiedra got a scoop slam in, but the comeback was short lived as Laredo ran in to stop Vice from kicking her. So she kicked him instead, sent him into the corner and hit them both with a, ahem, hip attack.
They moved to the outside where Hiedra got the drop on Vice with a stunner and threw her back into the ring. Hiedra hit Vice with a dropkick in the corner and then choked her on the ropes. Hiedra put on a deep chin lock, trying to get Vice to pass out or tap out.
She clubbed Vice down to the mat then set her up for another dropkick. Vice came out of the corner with a superkick and a belly-to-back suplex. The men tagged in and Iguana hit a springboard head butt followed by a crucifix driver on Laredo.
Laredo nailed Iguana with a Michinoku driver followed by a 450 splash, but Iguana kicked out at 2.5. Laredo went for a pumphandle, but Iguana countered it into a DDT. He crawled over to Vice and got the tag. Vice met Hiedra in the center of the ring with some kicks, but Hiedra came back with a flatliner.
Hiedra took a superkick to the head, but Laredo came in a broke up the pin. Iguana hit him with an Iguanarana to the outside. Laredo sent Iguana into the stairs and Hiedra hit a face first slam on Vice to get the 1-2-3 and win the AAA Mixed Tag Titles.
Match Result: La Hiedra & Laredo Kid defeated Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana
