Rey Mysterio injured during WWE Raw match

Rey Mysterio is hurt.

Bryan Alvarez is confirming that Mysterio was legit hurt during his match against Austin Theory Monday’s Raw. He finished the match, but didn’t take part in a post-match beatdown that saw The Vision lay out Dragon Lee and Penta. Mysterio instead remained on the apron favoring his shoulder as medical staff tended to him, the referee holding up the ‘X’ sign.

After the angle took place, the show quickly switched gears to a Natalya promo as Mysterio was helped to the back.

Mysterio had just returned from a groin injury back in November, rekindling his feud with his son Dominik. In recent weeks he, Penta, and Dragon Lee have feuded with the likes of The Vision. After Adam Pearce reinstated Bron Breakker on Raw and put all members of the group into the Royal Rumble, he set up a rematch between Theory and Mysterio right then and there.

On last week’s show, a match between Je’Von Evans and El Grande Americano was stopped after Evans appeared to be injured. However, Evans said he was fine on Raw and declared himself for Saturday’s Royal Rumble.
