Rey Mysterio triceps injury legitimate, surgery not expected

The injury referred to on Raw involving Rey Mysterio is legitimate and did take place on Sunday night in his Payback match where he teamed with Dominik against Seth Rollins & Murphy.

WWE referred to the injury as a triceps tear and that is likely the real injury, but as of right now, it is not thought to be as serious as a full tear that would require surgery.

The word going around tonight is that Mysterio is expected out of action for two months, or maybe less, and will be able to recover through rehab and won’t need surgery.

Mysterio was supposed to face Rollins on Raw tonight but was replaced by Dominik in the match. Dominik lost to Rollins, who advanced to face Randy Orton and Keith Lee in a number one contender’s triple threat match in tonight’s main event. Orton won that match and will challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Clash of Champions on Sunday, September 27.
