Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade pulled from WWE SmackDown

Though Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade had been announced for tonight’s SmackDown, their match will no longer be happening.

WWE posted a video shortly before SmackDown went on the air, with it announcing that Mysterio vs. Andrade has been pulled from tonight’s episode. It was said that Mysterio suffered an ankle injury during his match against Baron Corbin on Raw last night. The video also stated that Mysterio will be re-evaluated as we get closer to WrestleMania.

Mysterio challenging for Samoa Joe’s United States Championship is scheduled for WrestleMania 35. The show is taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday.

Andrade tweeted about tonight’s match being canceled: “Smart @reymysterio !!! I’m the #NewFaceOfLatino”

Corbin defeated Mysterio in the main event of last night’s Raw. It was set up after Mysterio, who was originally supposed to face Kurt Angle on Raw, stood up for Angle when Corbin interrupted him.

Angle put Corbin in the ankle lock after last night’s main event. Angle vs. Corbin in Angle’s farewell match has been announced for WrestleMania.
