Rhea Ripley currently being evaluated for knee injury

Rhea Ripley on SmackDown

Rhea Ripley is currently under evaluation.

It was revealed on Friday’s SmackDown by Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore that the WWE Women’s Champion is being evaluated for a knee injury that she suffered in Italy. A timeline for a return will be dependent on how she responds to treatment.

Ripley last wrestled on television at Clash in Italy, where she retained the WWE Women’s Championship over Jade Cargill. She made a few more appearances on live event tours, with her last match being a victory in a six-woman tag team match where she, Charlotte Flair, and Tiffany Stratton defeated Fatal Influence during a house show in Lisbon, Portugal.

Recent weeks have seen Ripley form an unlikely alliance with Flair and Alexa Bliss. Friday’s show had Flair emerging as the winner of the final women’s Queen of the Ring opening round match, defeating Cargill, Sol Ruca, and Lyra Valkyria. During that match Michin and B-Fab frequently interfered, causing Bliss to make the save. When the numbers game proved to be too much, Tiffany Stratton came out to help even the odds.
