Roxanne Perez recreates picture with childhood idol AJ Lee

At WWE Raw last night, Roxanne Perez got to share a locker room with her childhood idol.

Following her return on SmackDown, AJ Lee appeared on Raw in Milwaukee, where it was confirmed that she’ll be teaming with her husband CM Punk in a mixed tag match against Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza.

Lee also shared a special moment with Perez backstage at the show, with the two recreating a now-famous photo where a young Perez became emotional while meeting Lee.

The two have become friends over the years, and Lee refers to Perez as one of her “wrestling daughters.” Perez has long expressed hope that a dream match between them could happen at some point. That now looks to be a realistic possibility with Lee stepping back in the ring.

“Oh I’m so good,” Perez tweeted while sharing photos with Lee from last night.

Wrestlepalooza will be Lee’s first time competing since announcing her retirement in 2015. She has officially signed a new WWE contract and was on Raw last night for a confrontation with Lynch. In addition to the mixed tag match, it looks like WWE is building up a future Women’s Intercontinental Championship bout with Lynch defending against Lee.

Perez, a member of Judgment Day, is a heel on the Raw roster.

“Definitely, yeah. I try,” Perez said in 2024 about trying to get Lee to return. “But [Punk] tells me that he’s doing the same thing. He’s trying to get her to, like, come back, pulling her in. But I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me.”
