Sasha Banks to face Charlotte in an Iron Man match at WWE Roadblock

Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair will again be making history at Roadblock later this month.

It was announced on tonight’s edition of Raw that Banks would defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte in a 30-minute Iron Man match at WWE’s final pay-per-view of the year. Banks issued the challenge to Charlotte and it was revealed that she had accepted later in the night.

Banks was previously involved in the only other women’s Iron Man match in WWE history, where she took on Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: Respect last year.

Dave Meltzer reported on the December 3rd edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Banks was scheduled to face Charlotte in a stipulation match on the PPV. Banks and Charlotte have long been programmed against each other, with Banks most recently taking the title from Charlotte in the main event of last week’s Raw.

The updated card for Roadblock on December 18th is:

  • WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens defending against Roman Reigns
  • Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks defending against Charlotte Flair in a 30-minute Iron Man match
  • Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho
