Seth Rollins: ‘I would not be who I am today without AJ Styles’
Seth Rollins says AJ Styles pioneered the style of wrestling that he uses today.
With Styles’ career seemingly over following his loss to Gunther at the WWE Royal Rumble on Saturday, Rollins was asked about Styles during a recent media event.
In an interview posted to TikTok by casey_buscher, Rollins said:
“I would not be who I am today without AJ Styles. 100 percent. Because AJ Styles pioneered the style that I use today. He’s one of the guys when I was 14, 15, 16 years old that I looked to and I said, ‘I may not be able to be Hulk Hogan. I may not be Andre the Giant, The Ultimate Warrior, any of these guys. I can be Shawn Michaels, I can be AJ Styles, I can be Jeff Hardy.”
AJ was one of the first guys that I saw that could just do it all. He could do everything. He could brawl, he could fight, he could high fly, he could be a technical wizard. He was incredible.”
Rollins and several other wrestlers are currently in San Francisco for Super Bowl week media events. Earlier today, MJF posted pictures of him meeting up with Rollins at one event.
Rollins has been out of action since October 11, 2025, when he was injured performing a coast-to-coast headbutt on Cody Rhodes in the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match, which Rollins would ultimately win.
