Sheamus says he got ‘early call-up’ to make WWE return

Sheamus got an “early call-up” to make his WWE in-ring return.

Responding to jokes on social media about his physique not being up to par, Sheamus wrote that he was originally aiming to be back for the WWE Draft but got an early call to return on Monday’s Raw. He defeated Ivar on the episode.

Sheamus took a light-hearted approach to the body-shaming jokes, saying he’s been sleeping in the gym ever since.

“Ok Ok take your best shots.. Whalemus, Too Many Pies, etc.. and then we’re done with the photoshopping & shaming,” he tweeted. “I was aiming for the Draft & got an early call-up. My bad. On me. Been sleeping in the gym ever since SO watch this space i appreciate the love too #Sheamoose”

Monday was Sheamus’ first time wrestling since August 2023. He got his old “Written In My Face” theme music back starting with the Raw match against Ivar.

It was said on Raw that the 46-year-old Sheamus had been out of action due to neck issues.

“I talked to Sheamus earlier today, he says he’s never felt better,” Michael Cole said on commentary.

“Had some nerve stuff going on in his neck, had surgery, now he’s back,” Pat McAfee added.

Sheamus tweeted yesterday that, two months ago, he thought he was going to have to retire due to the neck issues.

WWE began promoting Sheamus’ return on the Raw after WrestleMania.

The 2024 WWE Draft begins on the April 26 episode of SmackDown and ends on the April 29 episode of Raw.
