Start of WWE WrestleMania 37 delayed due to weather issues

The start of WrestleMania 37 was delayed due to rain.

Michael Cole opened the start of WrestleMania 37, saying that due to thunderstorms in the area, there would be a delay to the start of the program. Interviews were shown with Braun Strowman, Shane McMahon, Kevin Owens, and others talking about their matches for WrestleMania, with brief cuts to the kickoff panel who also talked about upcoming matches. After 45 minutes, the first match of the night, Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, began.

Prior to the start of the show, fans were temporarily asked to seek coverage in concourses, ramps, and club areas within Raymond James Stadium due to thunderstorms in the area. However, fans were allowed back in their seats prior to the start of the pre-show kickoff.

The show started as scheduled at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Vince McMahon welcoming fans to WrestleMania. Bebe Rexha then performed “America the Beautiful”, as planes flew over the stadium.
