Stephanie McMahon confirms new role for John Cena’s final WWE match
Stephanie McMahon has announced herself in a new role for John Cena’s final WWE match.
In around two weeks, John Cena is all set to perform in his final-ever WWE match. He is scheduled to go against the winner of the Last Time is Now tournament. However, with still a few weeks to go, former WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon has revealed her new duties for that night.
Speaking to Megan Morant ahead of WWE Survivor Series, McMahon confirmed that she will be serving as a co-host for the event alongside Joe Tessitore.
“I’m actually co-hosting with Joe Tessitore,” McMahon revealed. “I’m going to have to reign those emotions in a little bit.”
John Cena’s last match is scheduled to take place on the December 13th, 2025 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. His opponent has not yet been determined, though it will be one of the tournament’s four remaining semifinalists. Gunther, Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, and Jey Uso are set to face off on the December 1 episode of Raw to determine who advances to the finals.
John Cena’s former rival is not a fan of his final run
Recently speaking to Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, David Otunga shared his thoughts on John Cena’s ongoing retirement tour.
“Honestly I wish it would have been a little bit more exciting. I don’t think it was what people expected. I wanted him to have a farewell tour like Kobe (Bryant) did. Kobe’s farewell tour was awesome, I feel like Cena deserves that because, let’s be honest he comes out and says he’s the greatest of all time, he’s not necessarily wrong. The guy does deserve it.”
Cena and Otunga were once fierce rivals during David Otunga’s Nexus run.
