Stephanie Vaquer shares International Women’s Day message: ‘He is still free, but I am still alive’
Stephanie Vaquer touched upon her own story while sharing a message for International Women’s Day.
On Sunday, the Women’s World Champion shared an Instagram story celebrating the holiday.
“This Women’s Day, a huge hug to all women, especially those who, like me, spoke up and reported despite fear and threats,” she wrote. “He is still free, but I am still alive, and I will keep fighting for the truth and justice until the end.”
Back in March of 2023 Vaquer filed a criminal complaint against El Cuaterero, who she was previously in a relationship with, accusing him of domestic violence. He was later arrested and charged with attempted murder and domestic violence but was released last year.
Vaquer joined WWE in 2024 and quickly become a success story, winning both the NXT North American and Women’s titles before joining the main roster later the following year. She won the Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza, defeating IYO SKY in a match for the vacant title. She is scheduled to defend the title against Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42 next month.
