Tag team breaks up on WWE Raw

After once again failing to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, Lyra Valkyria & Bayley are no longer tag team partners.

Valkyria turned heel and attacked Bayley during a post-match angle that took place on today’s WWE Raw episode from London. The show included a tag title match where Valkyria & Bayley challenged Brie Bella & Paige for the belts. Valkyria took the fall in the match, and her frustrations then boiled over with a beatdown of Bayley.

Going into the bout, Valkyria & Bayley said this was do or die for them and would be the time they finally become Women’s Tag Team Champions. Bayley tried to cheer Valkyria up when they did end up losing, but Valkyria then turned against Bayley and attacked her until officials broke things up. Even after that, Valkyria attacked Bayley again and laid her out with Nightwing.

WWE followed up on this with a backstage segment where Jackie Redmond tried to interview Valkyria, who would not explain her actions or offer any kind of response.

Valkyria is a former Women’s Tag Team Champion with Becky Lynch but could not win the titles with Bayley during their partnership. Following today’s heel turn, Lynch sent out an in-charater tweet saying that she tried to warn Valkyria that Bayley would hold her back.

Lynch wrote: “LOONEY LOSER LYRA HAS SNAPPED!! All because she LOST! What did she expect?! I TRIED to warn her that BASIC Bayley would hold her back but she DIDN’T listen!!! ! I WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!! #beckywasrightabouteverything”
