Tag team tournament match set for next week’s WWE SmackDown

A first round match in a top contender’s tag team tournament is set for the January 20 WWE SmackDown. 

On-screen authority figure Adam Pearce announced on this week’s SmackDown that Drew McIntyre and Sheamus will team against Erik and Ivar of The Viking Raiders in a first round bout in a tournament to determine top contenders to the WWE Undisputed Tag Team titles. 

Also announced for next week’s SmackDown, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and challenger Kevin Owens will have a contract signing for their Royal Rumble title bout. 

A match has also been announced for the January 27 SmackDown show, as Rey Mysterio will take on Karrion Kross. 

Here are the announced lineups for the next two SmackDown episodes:

  • Tag team top contender’s tournament first round: Drew McIntyre & Sheamus vs. The Viking Raiders
  • Roman Reigns & Kevin Owens contract signing

WWE SmackDown, Friday, January 27 —

  • Rey Mysterio vs. Karrion Kross
