Taya Valkyrie says she will always treasure Perros del Mal.

On Saturday’s live edition of AAA on Fox, a new version of the group was formed with Karmen Petrovic, Daga, Angel Garza, Berto, and Bronco Nima. The group attacked El Grande Americano in the closing segment of the show before revealing they were all wearing the classic Perros del Mal t-shirts.

Valkyrie posted to social media after the show:

“For those that don’t know the history, it goes deep. What we made, what we created, the cheers, the boos, the impact that Perros del Mal had on lucha libre history is undeniable. @SoyHijoDelPerro created a movement and I wouldn’t be where I am without him. Learn about the history and enjoy it. Because I will always treasure @PerrosdelMalMx. It was magic.”

Valkyrie joined the stable in 2012 and won the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship in 2014, holding it for a then-record 945 days.

Dave Meltzer wrote about Perros del Mal’s history in his bio on Perro Aguayo Jr. in the March 30, 2015 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Regarding the group’s popularity, Meltzer wrote:

“Perros Del Mal” T-shirts a decade ago in Mexico were like Austin 3:16 shirts 15 years ago in the United States. Arena Mexico on Friday nights when Aguayo Jr. appeared, almost always in a headline position, was regularly doing 10,000 fans weekly and would hit 15,000 and above when he was matched against Santo or Mistico. As far as a singular arena, one which ran multiple times per week, it was one of the greatest attendance runs in pro wrestling history.”
