Theory & Waller accept Tag Team title open challenge for WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso now know who their challengers for tonight’s episode of SmackDown will be.

Rhodes & Uso will defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles against Austin Theory & Grayson Waller on SmackDown tonight. This afternoon, WWE posted a video with Theory & Waller accepting the open challenge that Rhodes & Uso had issued.

At Fastlane last Saturday, Rhodes & Uso defeated Finn Balor & Damian Priest to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles. The new champions then made their first title defense on Raw this Monday, defeating Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.

The team that wins tonight’s title match will defend against Balor & Priest on Raw this coming Monday.

Tonight’s SmackDown is the show’s season premiere episode. It’s taking place from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The updated lineup for the show is listed below:

  • Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns returns
  • John Cena appears
  • Paul “Triple H” Levesque appears
  • Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso defend against Austin Theory & Grayson Waller
  • Pretty Deadly vs. Ridge Holland & Butch
