Tyler Bate added to WWE SmackDown roster

Tyler Bate’s call-up to the WWE main roster is a permanent one.

After debuting on the show, Bate has been added to the SmackDown roster page on WWE’s website. WWE also posted a video on Instagram where Bate said he’s arrived on SmackDown and is here to stay.

Bate said: “Finally, it’s been a long time coming, but the Big Strong Boi has finally arrived on SmackDown — and I am here to stay.”

Bate made his WWE main roster debut as Butch’s mystery partner on Friday night’s SmackDown. The former British Strong Style stablemates reunited for a victory over Pretty Deadly. The finish of the match was Bate and Butch giving Kit Wilson a double Tyler Driver ’97. Bate pinned Wilson to get the win.

The debut comes seven years after Bate first arrived in WWE. He was crowned the inaugural NXT United Kingdom Champion in 2017.

Bate and Butch (formerly known as Pete Dunne) have been linked together throughout their careers as both stablemates and opponents.

Now 26 years old, Bate had been competing in NXT since NXT UK closed its doors in 2022. Dave Meltzer first reported last month that there had been talk of Bate being called up to the main roster.
