UFC’s Israel Adesanya impressed by Oba Femi: ‘He’s the guy’
Former UFC champion and wrestling fan Israel Adesanya is enamored by WWE star Oba Femi.
Ahead of his fight against Joe Pyfer in the main event of this weekend’s UFC event in Seattle, Shawn McDonald of Full Send MMA spoke with Adesanya, reminding him of his Undertaker tribute for his UFC 276 fight against Jared Cannonier.
Before that fight, Adesanya brough out an urn with the WWE legend’s music playing during his walkout as a tribute to Undertaker’s WWE Hall of Fame induction that year.
McDonald asked Adesanya about his top five WWE entrances to which he listed Rey Mysterio, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin before getting nostalgic about Stacy Keibler and The Godfather.
That is when Femi came up with Adesanya saying he is a fan of his current work and feels he is the future of WWE.
“I really like the way he just moves. I like the way he’s carrying WWE right now. He’s the guy. He’s got that swagger. So, shoutout to Oba Femi. It’s not Oba, it’s Oba Femi. That’s the guy right now,” he said.
Femi made his main roster debut at the 2026 Royal Rumble and has dominated on Raw and SmackDown since then. He is gearing up for his first WrestleMania match where he will clash with Brock Lesnar after making a statement earlier this month.
