UFC’s Derrick Lewis says he’s in talks with WWE

Derrick Lewis says he’s been talking with WWE.

The UFC heavyweight took part in a media day ahead of his main event fight against Rodrigo Nascimento on Saturday in St. Louis. The 39-year-old was asked about a possible crossover with WWE and responded that he’s been speaking with the company for a few months now.

Lewis said:

Yeah, we actually in talks right now. We’ve been talking for a few months now. I was supposed to go down there in February to check everything out.

Lewis was asked what his finishing move might be if he was to become a wrestler. He responded:

It’d have to be something like Rikishi. Something like that, you might see it. Somehow, I like taking off my shorts so we might see something like that.

Lewis performed the D-X crotch chop after his win over Marcos Rogerio de Lima at UFC 291. Triple H responded to the gesture on X, referring to Lewis as a “WWE taunt expert.”

Saturday will be Lewis’ 11th time headlining a UFC event.
