Undisputed title contender’s match set for WWE SmackDown

A match with Undisputed WWE Universal Championship implications is set for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

WWE has announced that Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus will take place on SmackDown tonight. The winner will challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE’s Clash at the Castle pay-per-view on Saturday, September 3.

Roman Reigns is the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. He’s defending the title against Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match at SummerSlam later this month.

Clash at the Castle will be WWE’s first major PPV to take place in the United Kingdom in more than 30 years. The PPV is being held at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

On SmackDown last month, McIntyre challenged Reigns to face him at Clash at the Castle.

Reigns is also set to appear on SmackDown tonight. Here’s the updated lineup for the episode:
