Update on Bayley’s WWE contract status | Exclusive
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Bayley’s situation with WWE on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
Bayley has not wrestled for WWE since a July 26 house show event in Bakersfield, California. She was defeated by Lyra Valkyria in her last televised match on the July 18 episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden.
Meltzer said Bayley has still not signed a new WWE contract.
“The only thing I heard from them when it comes to Bayley is that Bayley has a decision to make. So that’s the story. Bayley has a decision to make. She has not signed a contract.”
Meltzer added:
“When she signs a contract, I’m sure she’ll be back on TV. If she doesn’t sign, I think they’re doing the same thing with that that Tony does, or has done. He doesn’t always do it and they don’t always do it. But I think the situation with her is if she signs a contract, she’ll probably come back and attack Lyra, and that’ll be her storyline. And if she doesn’t sign, then she doesn’t come back and the Madison Square Garden thing was her write-off.”
Mercedes Moné teases Bayley to AEW
An Instagram post from Bayley on Monday added to the speculation surrounding her future. The song used in the background of a video of Bayley training was titled “All In,” leading some to believe she was teasing a potential appearance at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. Bayley captioned the video, “All or Nothing, baby.”
Bayley’s longtime rival and friend Mercedes Moné has also teased the possibility of Bayley joining her in AEW. Moné recently posted a fan-made match graphic featuring herself against Bayley at WrestleDream.
Bayley also posted a mini-documentary from her Saturday Night’s Main Event match against Valkyria late last month. In the video, Bayley says:
“I feel like I’m taking a further look back at everything, or seeing it from a different view, and knowing my place in this business, and knowing my worth in this business.”
