Update on original plans for Seth Rollins at WWE WrestleMania 42

Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the show-closing angle on WWE Raw and Seth Rollins’ status on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
Bron Breakker turned on Rollins in the final moments of Monday’s show. The belief is that an injury Rollins suffered at Crown Jewel led WWE to shift creative plans for The Vision. While the injury has not been confirmed, it appeared as though Rollins hurt his shoulder while delivering a coast-to-coast headbutt on Cody Rhodes in Perth.
Alvarez and Meltzer said on the show:
Alvarez: “I think Seth hurt himself at the pay-per-view.”
Meltzer: “That’s what everyone is saying, that Seth hurt himself doing the coast-to-coast headbutt spot, he landed on his shoulder.”
Alvarez pointed out that Rollins wore a large coat in every segment on Raw and wasn’t using his left arm:
Alvarez: “I don’t know this, but I think he had like a big giant brace on his arm and that’s why he wore this coat for the entire night.”
Meltzer noted that while some in WWE say they’ve been told Rollins is hurt, there’s some skepticism due to the fake knee injury storyline with Rollins earlier this year. Both, however, said they believe Rollins’ current injury is real.
As for possible changes stemming from Rollins being out, Meltzer and Alvarez said:
Meltzer: “Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. I don’t know this, but I have been told enough things to where I expected that there would be a turn on Seth Rollins at some point because the whole thing with this faction was not about Seth Rollins, it was about Bron Breakker, and about making Bron Breakker into the next Roman Reigns. Now, how they would do that, I wasn’t told that.”
He added: “But I doubt it was going to be this early.”
Meltzer also said Rollins’ injury could affect upcoming plans for Saturday Night’s Main Event and Survivor Series in San Diego:
Meltzer: “Clearly, Punk and Seth were supposed to wrestle at Saturday Night’s Main Event, that was the next thing and then obviously WarGames and all that. So everything in that regard has changed. I don’t know where it goes.”
