Updated lineup for Christmas Day WWE SmackDown

WWE has made a couple of announcements for this week’s Christmas Day episode of SmackDown.

It had already been announced that Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Charlotte Flair would be defending their titles on SmackDown this Friday. Their match has now been revealed, with Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair and Bayley & Carmella challenging Asuka & Charlotte in a triple threat elimination match.

This will be Asuka & Charlotte’s first title defense. They won the Women’s Tag Team titles from Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax at TLC this past Sunday.

WWE has also announced Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso for this Friday’s SmackDown. Uso’s cousin Roman Reigns is defending the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in a steel cage match on the episode. The steel cage stipulation is due to Uso getting involved and helping Reigns throughout his tables, ladders, and chairs match against Owens at TLC.

Friday’s SmackDown was taped earlier in the week and will air on Fox at 8 p.m. Eastern time. The episode will feature:

  • Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending against Kevin Owens in a steel cage match
  • Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn defending against Big E in a lumberjack match
  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Charlotte Flair defending against Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair and Bayley & Carmella in a triple threat elimination match
  • Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso
