Velasquez to team with Mysterio at WWE Mexico City house show

Cain Velasquez and Rey Mysterio will be teaming up for a match next month.

WWE announced today that Velasquez & Mysterio will team together in a tag match at their house show in Mexico City, Mexico on Saturday, November 30. Velasquez & Mysterio’s opponents haven’t been revealed.

The house show is taking place at Arena Ciudad de Mexico and will feature wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown.

In storyline, Velasquez making his WWE debut and attacking Brock Lesnar was to get revenge for Lesnar laying out Mysterio and Dominik. Velasquez’s victory over Lesnar from the UFC is also part of their feud.

Velasquez has signed a multi-year deal with WWE. He’ll challenge for Lesnar’s WWE Championship at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 31.

Velasquez made his in-ring debut for Lucha Libre AAA at Arena Ciudad de Mexico this August. He then had his second pro wrestling match at AAA’s Invading NY show in September. Both of his first two matches were six-man tags.
