WWE announces Edge storyline injury update

WWE has announced a storyline injury update on Edge after the attack he suffered on this week’s episode of Raw.

Monday’s Raw ended with Edge having his leg destroyed by The Judgment Day. Dominik Mysterio repeatedly hit Edge’s leg with a steel chair, then Damian Priest held Edge’s leg inside of a chair so Finn Balor could hit it with a Coup de Grace.

WWE addressed the attack on WWE’s The Bump this afternoon. The storyline update claimed that Edge had an MRI done today and was diagnosed with a grade two MCL sprain.

If the knee injury were legitimate, it would be expected to keep someone out of action for several weeks.

Following Dominik Mysterio’s heel turn, Edge faced Dominik in the main event of Raw this Monday. Edge had Dominik wrapped in the ropes and was going for a spear when Rey Mysterio ran into the ring and pleaded with him to stop. Dominik’s Judgment Day stablemates then attacked Edge and Rey and caused the match to end in a disqualification.
