WWE announces release of TJP

TJP is no longer with the WWE.

In a one-sentence statement on WWE.com, the company wrote: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Theodore Perkins (TJP).”

He hadn’t been used much on 205 Live as of late, though did appear on the show this week with a new look, losing to Humberto Carrillo. Before that, the only other other date he worked in 2019 was losing to Dominik Dijakovic and participating in a battle royal as part of the Worlds Collide tournament during Royal Rumble weekend.

“Thanks for giving me a chance and letting me play for the team I grew up watching,” TJP wrote on Twitter soon after news broke out.

TJP was signed to the WWE in 2016 and won the Cruiserweight Classic tournament, becoming the first person to hold this iteration of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. He lost the title to Brian Kendrick at Hell in a Cell that year. Recently, he had formed an alliance with Mike Kanelis on TV.
