WWE Champion says Natalya ‘blessed’ her with knowledge
Reigning WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri is all praise for veteran Natalya.
A part of WWE for the past few years, Maxxine Dupri is vividly known for her run with Chad Gable and Otis as a part of The American Alpha. However, with Gable’s heel turn and Otis’ ongoing absence, Dupri has also moved on and has now allied with the veteran wrestler, Natalya. Recently, speaking on the Battleground podcast, Dupri opened up about how Natalya influenced her and changed the way she worked inside the ring.
“She has completely shifted my aggression and my in-between moments,” Dupri noted. “And I think that those are the things that takes a wrestling match from, ‘Ok that was good’, to ‘Wow, I feel so connected to what’s happening in that ring. And she does such a good job of fine tuning and showing you exactly what you need to change.”
“Sometimes that means she’s slapping you across the face, or she’s on top of you, beating you up and showing you exactly the level of intent you need to have. She has hands down changed the way I work in the ring by blessing me with her knowledge.”
Last month, Dupri defeated Becky Lynch at a Raw episode in Madison Square Garden to crown herself the new women’s Intercontinental Champion. However, since then, Dupri has failed to appear regularly on weekly television.
Following her debut a few years ago, Dupri is currently one of the most popular stars on the roster and has been featured heavily recently on vignettes alongside Natalya, aka Nattie.
