WWE coach Terry Taylor reportedly set to undergo surgery
WWE coach Terry Taylor is set for surgery.
A recent report from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson noted that WWE Performance Center coach Terry Taylor is now set to undergo knee surgery in the upcoming weeks.
It was further noted in the report that the surgery will cause him to miss The Gathering convention in July 2026, which is being promoted by TMart Promotions in Charlotte, NC.
Taylor, 70, has been working as a WWE Performance Center coach for over a decade. He joined the position back in 2012.
A retired pro-wrestler, Taylor has wrestled across different indie promotions as well as the WCW and WWF. With a history of previous surgeries, he underwent a neck surgery in 2004, where he fused three vertebrae in his neck. Followed by a cervical fusion surgery in 2006.
WWE’s Oba Femi recently heaped praise on Terry Taylor
A few months ago, while speaking on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, WWE’s Oba Femi heaped praise on Terry Taylor, calling him inspirational.
“If I was to say anyone, Terry Taylor is one. He and I, when I was NXT, we always disagreed on a lot of things but Terry doesn’t actually know that he’s very inspirational to me. Terry’s a very smart, intelligent man. Great storyteller, you get lost in his words a lot of times,” Femi said.
“Terry taught me, this is one small one, very minute. Terry taught me the word minutiae. He was like, ‘Aw we’re gonna do this, you can’t get lost in the minutiae.’ (Oba said) ‘The what?’ (Terry said) ‘It’s the detail, the nuance.’ I was like ‘Wow.’”
