WWE confirms Women's Tag Team title match for WrestleMania 36

WWE has confirmed the Women's Tag Team Championship match for WrestleMania 36.

Asuka & Kairi Sane defending their Women's Tag Team titles against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross will air on WrestleMania. The match was officially announced prior to Asuka defeating NXT's Kayden Carter on tonight's Raw.

On SmackDown last Friday, Bliss defeated Asuka in a singles match. Bliss & Cross had been calling out Asuka & Sane for a Women's Tag Team title shot, which led to Asuka appearing on the March 13 episode of SmackDown and attacking Bliss.

Asuka & Sane defending their titles against Bliss & Cross and Beth Phoenix & Natalya in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 36 had been the plan at one point.

Asuka & Sane are the fourth team to hold the Women's Tag Team titles since they were introduced. They won the titles from Bliss & Cross at Hell in a Cell in October 2019.

WrestleMania 36 was taped last week and will air on the WWE Network on Saturday (April 4) and Sunday (April 5).
