WWE to determine McIntyre’s Clash of Champions challenger on Raw

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre’s challenger for Clash of Champions will be determined on tonight’s episode of Raw.

WWE has announced that Keith Lee vs. Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens, and Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins will take place on Raw tonight. The winners of those singles matches will face off in a triple threat match later in the night to decide McIntyre’s challenger for Clash of Champions.

Lee defeated Orton in their match at Payback last night. Mysterio teamed with his son Dominik to defeat Rollins & Murphy at the pay-per-view.

There was a storyline on Raw last week where Orton laid out McIntyre with three punt kicks to the head. WWE originally claimed that — in storyline — medical staff feared McIntyre suffered “a skull fracture and potential brain bleeding” that could be career-ending.

A new storyline update on McIntyre was given last night, with WWE saying he “sustained a hairline jaw fracture” as a result of Orton’s punts.

McIntyre retained the WWE Championship against Orton at SummerSlam by pinning him with a backslide.

Clash of Champions is taking place on Sunday, September 27.
