WWE facing ‘significant’ visa issues

More visa issue problems in pro wrestling.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that WWE is facing “significant visa issues” right now. What that exactly means for some WWE talent moving forward isn’t known, but companies across the United States have experienced visa problems in the last few years that has seen talent be kept out of action for a considerable period.

In AEW, Komander and The Beast Mortos are currently unable to wrestle in the United States due to visa problems, creating an issue as Mortos and Sammy Guevara currently hold the Ring of Honor Tag Team titles. When announcing Mortos’ absence, Tony Khan said that the titles would likely be defended in Mexico. This came into fruition this past Friday when Guevara & Mortos successfully defended the ROH Tag Team titles against El Hijo del Villano and Villano III Jr. at Arena Mexico.

Back in April, Stardom had to make changes to their WrestleMania weekend card due to what they said was an “unusually long visa process.” As a result, Maki Itoh, Yuria Hime, and Fuwa-chan were unable to travel to the United States.

It was also noted in March that WWE was looking to get more of AAA’s talent signed to deals along with visas so they could work in the United States. The first night of Triplemania is set to be held in Las Vegas on September 11.
