WWE News: Elimination Chamber PPV notes including titles on the line
WWE.com announced Tuesday that there will be two Elimination Chamber matches on the just announced 5/31 special WWE Network “PPV” show from Corpus Christi, TX.
One will be a match for the now-vacant Intercontinental title, while the other will be a multiple team match for the WWE tag team titles held by The New Day. This will be the first time that a Chamber match will not have either the WWE title or WWE World heavyweight title at stake.
In addition, they announced both a WWE World and WWE U.S. title match, and that John Cena would be on the show regardless of what happens in his Payback match against Rusev.
The Cena inclusion is notable because he’s booked in Greenville, SC, for the organization’s 1 PM EST show, while the Chamber show is at 7 PM EST. Cena could do his match early and still be able to get in for a second match that day.
