WWE NXT star earns future AAA Cruiserweight title match

WWE NXT star earns future AAA Cruiserweight title match

WWE NXT star Je’Von Evans is very close to his first championship.

Tonight at the November 22nd AAA Alianzas TV taping, NXT wrestler Je’Von Evans defeated Octagón Jr and Axiom to earn a shot at the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. In the opening match of the night, Evans stood victorious in the three-way match, securing the right to challenge Cruiserweight Champion Laredo Kid in the future.

Evans sealed the win by hitting Axiom with a springboard cutter. After the match, Laredo Kid entered the ring for a brief face-off with Evans, ending the segment by raising his championship title.

As of now, no official date has been confirmed or shared for their future title bout. Interestingly, Laredo Kid has held the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion since December 2024.

Mark Henry believes Je’Von Evans has a bright future in WWE

Recently speaking to TMZ Sports, Mark Henry addressed the subject of nepotism in the pro-wrestling industry, before switching his focus to Je’Von Evans’ current WWE deal. Hoping to see a bright future for the youngster, the Hall of Famer said,

“Je’Von Evans, I’m sure he’s not making big time player money, he’s making a nice little hunk of change, but I guarantee his next contract they’re gonna pay him through the nose because they don’t want him to go nowhere else. Does he deserve less because he’s young? That dude will be wrestling 20 years from now. If he’s 20 or 21 years old, with his talent and the way that he understands the business… he’s gonna slow down in about 12 years. And then in about 15 years, he’ll be in his championship area – the last five years of his career, if he’s blessed to have 20 more years. There’s no rush. There’s enough money going around for everybody.”

Je’Von Evans is still in his early 20s and is arguably one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster, and has already had matches with several industry veterans.
