WWE of the belief Chad Gable is staying
WWE is of the belief that Chad Gable is staying with the company.
Though his WWE contract coming up brought some speculation about Gable’s future, Dave Meltzer reports that WWE expects Gable to remain with them. That always seemed like the most likely option with Gable receiving a strong push even when his contract was slated to expire soon. Gable is challenging Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental title at WWE Clash at the Castle this Saturday.
“WWE is of the belief Chad Gable will be staying,” Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “He’s getting the biggest push of his career right now and has become a real highlight of the Raw show. As noted, there were people in AEW pushing for him. FTR, who had some of their best matches with Gable & Jason Jordan years ago in the program that really made both teams in NXT, have always pushed for him in AEW, but he got a great offer to sign a new deal.”
June 7 was reported to be the date that Gable’s WWE deal expired.
Since turning heel this April, Gable’s character has been a bully to his Alpha Academy stablemates. We’ll see if Otis helps Gable win at Clash at the Castle or if he stands up for himself and turns against the Alpha Academy leader.
