WWE Raw video highlights: Gunther, Lyra Valkyria advance to tournament finals

Gunther and Lyra Valkyria have a chance to become WWE royalty this Saturday.

Monday night’s Raw saw Gunther and Valkyria advance to the finals of their respective tournaments. In the main event of the show, Gunther defeated Jey Uso to earn a spot in the King of the Ring finals. Valkyria booked her place in the Queen of the Ring finals with a victory against IYO SKY earlier in the night.

The story for the main event was Uso coming close to defeating Gunther but ultimately passing out in a sleeper. There was a moment where Uso gave Gunther a spear but accidentally took out the referee as well. When Uso followed up with a top rope splash, the referee was still recovering and slow to make the count. That gave Gunther enough time to kick out. He then locked Uso in a sleeper for the win.

Valkyria, a recent NXT call-up, was able to continue her run in Queen of the Ring by upsetting SKY. After avoiding a moonsault, Valkyria went for her Nightwing finisher. SKY slipped out of it, but Valkyria then sat down on a pin to get the three count.

Saudi Arabia is hosting King & Queen of the Ring this Saturday (May 25). The event streams live on Peacock/WWE Network starting at 1 p.m. Eastern time. The King of the Ring finals will be Gunther vs. either Randy Orton or Tama Tonga. For Queen of the Ring, it will be Valkyria vs. Bianca Belair or Nia Jax.
