WWE referee Charles Robinson taken to emergency room for bat bite

WWE referee Charles Robinson went through a strange ordeal overnight that had him in the emergency room for several hours.

In an Instagram post, Robinson shared that he was bitten by a bat in the middle of the night. He was treated at the hospital for the animal attack and required four shots.

“Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat,” Robinson wrote. “That’s right a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots. #animalattacks #hospital”

The 61-year-old Robinson is a referee on the WWE SmackDown roster and has been scheduled to travel to Boston this week for Friday’s episode at TD Garden. It remains to be seen if this bat bite will affect his status for the show.

A longtime fan of wrestling and of Ric Flair, Robinson broke into the industry in the 1990s as a photographer and referee. He later joined WCW as a ref and has now been with WWE for nearly 25 years.

At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event last month, Robinson had the honor of being the referee for Goldberg’s final match. He took one of the last spears of Goldberg’s career when Gunther moved out of the way and Goldberg laid out Robinson.
