John Cena WWE

According to oddsmakers, Gunther enters Saturday Night’s Main Event as the favorite to defeat John Cena in Cena’s final match.

Betting odds and predictions for all four matches on the show are available below. A deeper dive into this week’s wrestling odds is available in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

John Cena’s Retirement Match: John Cena vs. Gunther

As of yesterday’s edition of the newsletter, Gunther was a -400 favorite. He is currently listed at -300, with Cena at +200.

Whether Cena should win or lose, and the factors that will go into that decision, were addressed by Dave Meltzer this week, writing:

By all rights Cena should win, but one would think Cena would probably want to lose for all the same reasons that Sting wanted to lose his last match last year. Gunther won’t be hurt by the loss. Everyone knows the score here.

While many feel Cena should win, Triple H might not be one of them. He can be very old-school in his booking, and someone winning on their way out may not sit right with him. Similar to Sting’s final match, however, it may be difficult to deny the fans a feel-good ending.

Either way, WWE’s decision here will likely be featured on an episode of WWE Unreal Season 2.

Prediction: John Cena (but I feel somewhat unsure about it)

Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi

Rhodes is currently listed as a -300 favorite over Femi at +200, though he has been as heavy as a -600 favorite in some places.

It feels like the two most likely scenarios are either Femi dominating 90 percent of the match but then Rhodes finding a way to pull out the victory, or Femi gets the surprise win setting up a rematch for the title at the Royal Rumble.

Drew McIntyre is another factor, and his likely involvement could lead to a DQ or no-contest.

Prediction: Cody Rhodes

Sol Ruca vs. Bayley

Sol Ruca is a -250 favorite over Bayley, who is listed at +170.

A win over Bayley on a show this high-profile would be huge for Sol Ruca. Bayley wouldn’t be hurt by the loss in the least and would continue in her storyline with Lyra Valkyria.

Prediction: Sol Ruca

AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee are -280 favorites over Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater at +180.

These odds might be different if it was known that this isn’t a title match. Earlier this week, a WWE.com preview for it listed the titles as being on the line, but a quick glance at that same page today and it is no longer listed as a championship match. A non-title win over Lee & Styles could be a good way to set up a rematch down the line.

Prediction: Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
