WWE SmackDown ratings down against NBA play-in tournament

Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown averaged 2.265 million viewers on Fox, down 8.2 percent from the previous week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since March 24.

SmackDown drew a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 15.9 percent from last week. It topped all of network television in the demo but finished third on TV behind two NBA play-in tournament games on ESPN and TNT.

This ties SmackDown’s lowest rating in 18-49 since January 20.

The show also finished first among English-language network programs with a 0.36 rating in the 18-34 demo. It finished behind the two NBA play-in games as well as three shows on Univision.

As compared to the same week in 2022, SmackDown was up 5.7 percent in overall viewers and up 20.8 percent in 18-49, so the audience is skewing a lot younger.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for SmackDown, along with the 10-week averages in both categories. This week’s show was down 4.6 percent in overall viewers and down 6.5 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
