WWE SmackDown ratings down, still above usual numbers

Friday night’s WWE SmackDown averaged 2.231 million viewers on Fox, down 6.6 percent from the previous week, which had unusually high ratings due to a rare Roman Reigns title defense and an advertised appearance by Vince McMahon.

This was the second-best audience for SmackDown since April 1, though the show finished second-to-last among the major networks in terms of total viewers on Friday.

SmackDown drew a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 14.5 percent from the previous week but still the show’s second-best rating since April 8. SmackDown beat everything else on TV in 18-49 except for NHL Stanley Cup Finals coverage on ABC.

As compared to the same week in 2021, SmackDown was up 13.2 percent in overall viewers but down 1.9 percent in 18-49.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for SmackDown. This week’s show was up 11.4 percent in overall viewers and up 15.2 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages in both categories.
