WWE SmackDown draws second-best viewership of 2022

Friday’s Clash at the Castle fallout episode of WWE SmackDown averaged 2.367 million viewers on Fox, up 14 percent from the previous week. It’s the best viewership for the show since June and is the second-best viewership number SmackDown has done so far in 2022.

SmackDown drew a 0.57 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 16.3 percent from the previous week. It’s SmackDown’s best rating in the demo since July 22

The show led all the broadcast networks in 18-49 but finished second on television to ESPN’s coverage of the US Open, which topped the cable charts with a 0.67 rating. SmackDown also went up against college football on ESPN2, which did a 0.52 in 18-49.

SmackDown finished fifth on the broadcast networks in terms of total viewers on the night. It was second in the 18-34 demo behind a Spanish-language show on Univision.

As compared to the same week in 2021, Smackdown was down 0.7 percent in total viewers and down 12.3 percent in 18-49.
