WWE star Natalya explains goal of her new book

WWE star Natalya hopes her new book is something that can help people — whether they have any familiarity with wrestling or not.

Titled “The Last Hart Beating,” Natalya’s memoir is now available to purchase after being released on October 28. She spoke with the New York Post during a media tour and explained what her goal in writing the book was. Natalya hopes that her story can help readers redefine the way they look at success. Because in a family that has accomplished so much, Natalya believes her success story is being the first Hart who wasn’t broken inside whenever her career in the ring is over.

“It’s so much for me about redefining the way you look at success in your life,” she said. “And that’s a big takeaway is — in a family that has done everything, I am not going to be the first person in my family to win a World Championship. I’m not going to be the first person in my family to get into the Hall of Fame. I’m not going to be the first person in my family to main event WrestleMania.

“But I am going to be the first person in my family to not be broken, not be broken inside. That’s the most important thing, is to leave with my head held high. So while I was going through all these chapters, it’s like I kept chasing all of these things that I thought were going to make me happy. And then when you sort of get to the end, you realize all the things that I was chasing — they weren’t the things that were going to make me happy. So people that read it, will I think redefine the way they look at success in their own lives.”

In the book, Natalya is open about the struggles her late father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart faced in his life. Neidhart long suffered from brain trauma, which Natalya believes dates back to his early days playing football.

Natalya re-signed with WWE in 2024 but has gotten permission to compete in some outside matches at places like Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport. She’s shown a different side of herself at those shows, playing a more ruthless version of her WWE character. Bringing that character to WWE is her ultimate goal.

“It’s all I think about,” Natalya said.
