WWE stars bid farewell to John Cena

With John Cena’s final match approaching, WWE put together a video bidding farewell to him.

The four-minute video is set to “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap and includes WWE stars and personnel giving unspoken nods to Cena as he prepares to end his in-ring career. Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Stephanie McMahon, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch are among the many people featured.

Cena’s final match is happening at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend (December 13). It will be Gunther standing opposite from Cena, with Gunther having earned the spot through winning WWE’s Last Time is Now Tournament.

To promote the match, Gunther appeared on ESPN this week and stated that he “hated” watching Cena when he was a fan. Gunther framed their matchup as one pitting a pure wrestler against a sports entertainer.

Our Bryan Alvarez reported that there is no set runtime scheduled for the Saturday Night’s Main Event special, so everyone will get as much time as they need. Alvarez noted that, as of yesterday, Cena vs. Gunther was slated to open the night. The show is taking place from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. and will stream live on Peacock starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
